Time Management, an essential life skill

TMThere’s no TIME like the present. Use it or loose it. Have you ever felt like you didn’t have enough hours in the day? Have you ever felt like time “flew away” and you weren’t able to complete all the tasks that you set out to?

You are not alone…many people feel this way. Often time, these feelings can be altered if we learn and later master the art of Time Management. Time is a valuable resource. We all start the day with the same amount of time.

Let’s call that our ‘Time Bank’. We all spend our allocations of time differently. We make withdrawals for work, our family and ourselves in different proportions. It is important for us to withdraw wisely, as this time is not an infinite resource.

The following are some practical tips to help us make better withdrawal choices and thereby better manage our time:

1. Make a list of tasks – itemize all that has to be done.
2. Prioritize your tasks – do the important things first.
3. Avoid procrastination – just do it!
4. Allocate time wisely – for yourself, family and job.
5. Practice punctuality – be on time.

We’re all aware of what we should do, but seldom ever do it.

Let’s strive for implementation of our knowledge so that we are able to accomplish all that we set out to do.
